Sunshine, where are you?

I am aching terribly for a holiday.
Anywhere sunny, dry and filled with palm trees and happy people.
It's June but I'm still diving in and out of winter SAD.
Not to mention we are still turning on our heating every once in a while, which is just plain wrong.
I guess for now my bed will have to do for my make-believe palm tree holiday.

Meanwhile I've decided to make myself feel better with a plate of the housemate's brownies and A Model Summer, which is a semi-autobiography written by the 80s supermodel, Paulina Porizkova. (If you look up The Car's music video, Drive, you'll know who she is) It's a shocking, enlightening and almost sad view of how completely unglamorous modelling life is:Lots of competition, drugs, alcohol, sex, bitches, traitors, loneliness and the list goes on. It's funny, I've read quite a number of autobiographies from people who have made it big in the entertainment industry and nearly every one of them, if not all, often tell of the good, yet short, days of success and glamour before getting screwed over by fame without warning. Some have it worst than the other (which is why we always hear about suicide and drug overdose). Guess there's always a price to pay in life.
