Madness in the studio

2 days before the final crit and us poor souls are slaving away in the studio when suddenly the fire alarm goes off without warning. In the background, the lecturer could be heard saying

"Come on, can you please move to the fire exit now. If this was a real fire you'd all be burning bodies by now.

To the fire exit please."

Minutes later, we're all assembled at the car park in the cold. Someone could be heard saying

"Oh for God's sake, hurry up and let us in already we need to do some work!"

(Brownie points for guessing that it came from an architecture student.)

"Screw the Goddamn burning uni, we have a crit in two days!!"

We cracked up when a friend told us the instant the fire alarm went off, her first reaction was

"Shit! grab the Macbook!"

and second?

"Shit! my drawings!"

And so off comes her A2 drawings from the wall, into her portfolio.

Her phone, camera, and USB stick, remained sprawled on the table in the studio.

(Screw valuables, if the portfolio burns down we're screwed for life!)

In the IT room after 9 hours of rotting in the studio, a very frustrated and malfunctioned me was looking up pictures on Google to populate my building when by mistake, I blurted out loud,

"Oh for God's sake why doesn't anyone upload plan pictures of coffins?!"

Yes, i got very funny looks after that.

Words from my first year lecturer when he came over to peer over my drawings:

"Kimberly, why is there a coffin in your drawing?"

"Uh..I'm designing a funeral home. That's the resomatorium blablabla, it's like cremation but instead of burning it blablabla green funeral blabla boil them bodies blabla and irrigate soil with the liquid to produce garden yadayada"

"That seems absolutely morbid! Is this your sort of thing? Are you that type of person?"
"Well this is what the course has turned me into"
