Venice:
1. Italians are so effortlessly stylish+good looking it's actually disturbing.
2. Most of them, however, are a little bit short of manners :S.
(Well I don't blame them, with 90% of Venice being tourists who jack up their living costs)
3. Like Malaysians, the Italian system is never on time.
4. Pork is the main food here, aside from seafood. Chicken and beef are practically nonexistent.
I had to declare myself vegetarian at the hotel for dinner to avoid confrontation with a pork slice :S.
(sorry, just not a fan of pork)
5. Italian ice cream= best in the world.Even better twice a day.
6. No cars are allowed into Venice, which makes it so beautiful and unpolluted like most cities.
Boats are the no. 1. mode of transportation, so if you suffer from sea-sickness, it could be bad.
Most of us suffered boat-ish feelings even hours after getting off the boat.
7. My friend fell into the canal by accident, and it was one of the scariest things we all had to witness. It was like watching something terrible happen on slow motion but not being able to do anything about it.
Thank God, a friend close by managed to pull her to safety.she is ok aside from hurting her back and swallowing some nasty canal water.
(It isn't an architecture trip without something crazy happening,and from past experience i can assure you of that) I still get chills thinking Oh God, she almost drowned.
8.It is also through this crazy incident we came across a good samaritan.
9. Architects and alcohol are like best friends. My coursemates are living proof.
They downed 5 litres of wine at the beach on the last day and got on the plane and drank some more alcohol.
10. my family used to tease me about 10 years ago, "You should marry an Italian" because all I ever finished was lasagne and pasta when we went out for food. But that is a myth now because I can't handle pizza more than 2 days in a row and pasta+bread+pasta+bread+pasta does get unbearable after a week!
Currently having Post field trip syndrome:
missing the whole atmosphere of the entire field trip.
My turn to be jealous of you!!! I saw the photos of your trip and they all look so beautiful!!! Wish I could go there someday.

You will go there some day dont worry :)As long as we can still walk and board a plane i think no one should pass the chance to travel.
ReplyDeleteyes venice is like a fairy tale, very pretty and it's amazing that boats replace cars there, not a single car in sight..! we were joking the other day trying to 3point turn a boat to get to the supermarket lol.
Omg..i dont know how they do it. one glass of margarita makes my face go tomato red..lol.
